What we do

4min

Founda offers a dedicated healthcare API gateway (the HealthAPI) that enables applications to interact with healthcare provider systems through a uniform set of interfaces. The gateway handles receiving, processing and sending of healthcare data.

Curious how we do that?

Applications integrate with the Founda Health Platform to offer their Services and value to all connected healthcare organizations. This integration is based on the FHIR R4 standard and connectivity is provided through HTTPs. Once they are authorized, applications can access the provider’s data through standardized FHIR endpoints, making every integration scalable and reusable.

Provider Organizations integrate with the Founda Health Platform, regardless of their EHR. For any EHR the Founda Health Platform hosts either a pre-defined or a custom-made connector. This connector contains all the required knowledge and logic to exchange data with the Provider's EHR. The connectivity between the Provider's system and the Founda Health Platform is always a secure connection, e.g. VPN, mTLS, HTTPs.

Healthcare organizations are always 100% in control and decide which applications have access to their data through the access management in the console. Learn more in the Self-service Console tutorial!

The platform is supported by the Founda Services, each playing a crucial role in facilitating seamless communication and collaboration between healthcare applications and healthcare providers. The Services are the backbone of the platform, ensuring that data is securely exchanged, applications are effectively integrated and healthcare workflows are streamlined. Check out our Services page to learn more about each of their functionalities!

Once all involved parties are connected and integrated through the Founda Health Platform, the possible use cases that can be solved are endless! We categorize all these interactions with the platform in our Solutions:

  • Patient Demographics: Accurate and up-to-date information across the care continuum.
  • Access to Clinical Data: The exchange of crucial patient (clinical) evidence between systems.
  • Document Exchange: Publish, retrieve and share various types of medical documents.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Efficient patient appointment scheduling with synchronized agendas.
